Since 1989, owners Mike McLaughlin and Sandijean Fuson have taken countless suggestions from the community and incorporated them as private events, and gatherings that serve the public. We have proudly served our community as a space for all. From birthday parties, to video game tournaments, to high school reunions, to a space to film your own movie, the possibilities for this space are endless. Birthday Partys
Starting with our first ever showing of the Little Mermaid in 1990, we have continually hosted countless birthday parties, with the most recent being this year with 75 people in attendance. This type of event can be booked for a flat rate which includes one free sack of popcorn, candy, and refreshments for your group for a unique and memorable birthday gathering.
Community Meetings
Humanity conversation projects, economic development evaluations, and meetings. Just a few of the endless examples of uses of the Rex Theater to gather input, and make suggestions for improvement of our community.
Community Gatherings
Are you looking for a place to hold your High School class reunion? For a place to show those movies you all loved when you were in High School? Or maybe a space to simply have a family reunion or party? The Rex theater is a great place of celebration! Vale High School class of 1961 held their class reunion, and shared stories of their time in High School at the Rex for thier fun filled reunion weekend. Book your date now!
Film Screenings
Filmmaker Clare McKay premiered her original documentary Living an American Dream at the Rex theater to sold out crowds back to back nights. This led to the launching of her film for a tour around rural Oregon. Connor Williams also premiered his 2014 original feature Spoilers in the Rex, launching him on a path as a producer and opening the door to his career in Hollywood as an actor.
